Quality v desire

It seems a lot longer than a week since I got a wave but the twitch has well and truly kicked in. Which is probably why surfing 1 foot wind chop was so enjoyable this afternoon.

There was a jump in swell overnight but it wasn't enough to make waves locally early this morning. Juniors and BP reef wanted to work but it just wasn't big enough.

This afternoon there was a waist height dribbler off Juniors in the sea breeze. The water was colder than last week and the waves were pretty bad, except for four in a row from behind the back suck rock and through a couple of fin scrapping shallow sections. Having nine foot of board helped as the poor groms were enjoying themselves but struggling to get much more than a mush take off and a wriggle or two.

If there had been waves over the last few days you wouldn't have bothered but flat Feb helped turn this in a session that leaves you with a smile.

Afternoon (5.30 pm)
Waves   : 1'
Wind     : SSW
Tide      : ok but the reef was shallow
Quality  : 5 out of 10
Fun Factor : drought breaker

Wave count : enough but in spurts
Board : 9'0" Yahoo mal
